Pre-requisite

It would be ideal if you have completed a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management or an equivalent qualification. Alternatively, at least one years of experience in a leadership or management role is advised before undertaking this course. If you have little or no prior leadership experience, consider enrolling in a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management before progressing to this diploma. Student must be of at least 18 years of age.

Duration

This course is designed for completion within 24 months. Our delivery model offers a flexible, self-paced online learning experience. While it’s designed to allow you to learn at your own speed, we recommend completing one unit every three weeks. The duration of this course may be affected if credit transfers are applied.

Welcome to our Diploma of Leadership & Management

The Diploma of Leadership and Management is designed for current and emerging leaders looking to enhance their management capabilities, improve their emotional intelligence, and drive organisational success. This upskilling program is ideal for those who already have leadership experience and want to refine their ability to manage teams, lead strategically, and navigate workplace challenges with confidence.

Throughout the course, you will work closely with our experienced leadership team to
achieve your leadership goals, strengthen your decision making skills, and develop a deeper understanding of emotional intelligence to enhance team performance and workplace relationships.

This course goes beyond theory, providing you with practical strategies, expert mentorship, and a collaborative learning experience to help you lead with confidence, adapt to change, and create a positive impact within your organisation.

Introduction

Students will be introduced to their course, delivery and assessment methods, as well as their rights, responsibilities, and expectations, prior to course commencement. As part of the onboarding process, every student will participate in an introductory session with their dedicated mentor.

Within three (3) business days of your enrollment confirmation, your Study Mentor will reach out to you to guide you through the onboarding process. This will include a detailed explanation of your training plan, a demonstration of how to navigate and use the online platform, and a discussion of your course requirements.

The onboarding unit will also feature instructional videos that show you how to use the platform effectively, and will include an opportunity for you to introduce yourself and share a bit about your background.

Your Study Mentor will maintain regular contact with you throughout your course to track your progress and provide ongoing guidance and support in your studies.

This course consists of 12 units, 6 core and 6 elective units. The core units are listed below, while elective units can be selected in consultation with our team to best suit your leadership goals and career aspirations.

RPL/Credit Transfer

Students who believe they have sufficient experience to demonstrate full competence against particular units may apply for RPL.

In accordance with the requirements of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations, Australian Work Skill provides the opportunity for learners to apply to have prior learning recognised toward a qualification or units of competence for which they are enrolled. A fee applies for processing of RPL applications.

Credit Transfer is the recognition of learning achieved through formal education and training. Under the Standards for Registered Training Organisations, units of competency issued by any RTO are to be accepted and recognised by all other RTOs. Credit Transfer allows a learner to be issued a unit of competency based on the successful completion of the unit which has been previously awarded.

There is NO fee for Credit Transfer applications. You will be provided with a written advice (email) of the outcome of your CT application within seven (7) business day, and your Training plan will be adjusted accordingly.

Digital Skill requirements

To successfully partake in and complete this course, you should be able to:

  • Operate a computer application, like a Web Browser.
  • Navigate websites by following instructions and using website “links.”
  • Type and edit text for tasks like short answer assessment questions.
  • Choose the correct answers from multiple-choice lists.
  • Download, save, edit, and upload documents or files.
  • Manage tasks related to writing, editing, sending, receiving, and saving emails.
  • Utilise word processing application, such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs.
  • Use a spreadsheet program, like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, depending on the chosen electives.

The NSW Smart and Skilled program provides government-subsidised training for employers keen to hire eligible trainees, as well as NSW residents looking to upskill or kickstart a new career.
